Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action - new Community House - watch the house go up!
This is our concrete prayer on behalf of all of us (on and off Subase Bangor) for the abolition of ALL weapons of mass destruction,
especially the Trident nuclear weapons deployed just across our back fence


April 2005 - The old house destroyed in an electrical fire April 8, 2008 - Down it goes!

  

May 3 to 5 - New site - new house - volunteers raise foundation walls

  
  

June 1st - Dr Jon Hall celebrates the floor going on
June 8th Bryce Hall (hat and safety glasses) checks on his investment in Ground Zero - Parker and Uncle Jon attending

  
  

June 15th (Father's Day)
Laura Hart installs rebar
Jim, Tom, Sigrid & Mike build toward the second cement pour at 6 levels of block

  

June 29th with enormous help from University Congregational youth we're starting the final 2 courses of block
Sue, Jackie and Lynne bring lunch every work day!

  

Last block set Saturday July 5th.
Denny and Bob secure the lintel before the last cement pour

  

July 24th we complete the cement pour.

  
  

July 25 we frame the inside walls

  
    

August 2 we fly the trusses! Pat on the crane, Brian S in the lead, Denny in the rafters

  
  
  
  

Labor Day weekend Noah helped finish blocking the roof trusses, Mark, Jay and Anne continued furring out the inside walls of the great room, Denny helped finish the ladder framing for head room over the inside stairs to the attic, and Tom and Denny started putting the OSB sheets on the roof!
